Arielle Gates

Arielle began her dance training at the age of 6 at a local Southern California dance studio. Throughout her dance career, she has studied in the styles of jazz, lyrical, tap, ballet, and hip hop. Arielle earned her BA in Dance at California State University, Long Beach where she studied jazz, ballet, and modern under various professional dancers and choreographers. While studying at CSULB, Arielle performed in numerous faculty, MFA, and contemporary concerts. In 2012, one of Arielle's self-choreographed pieces was selected to perform in dance department's Contemporary Concert. She was also a member of the nationally ranked Long Beach State Dance Team for from 2009-2012 where she performed at sporting events, community events, and competed at the national level. In 2010 Arielle was one of the Dance Team members selected to perform with the Black Eyed Peas at the Kids Choice Awards. After graduating, Arielle was a member of the Pace Elite All Star International Competition Team, with whom she is a two time Dance World Champion, competing against some of the most talented teams and countries in the world.. Before teaching high school dance, Arielle taught and choreographed for numerous dance studios and high school dance teams in Southern California. She has also judged for multiple dance competitions both nationally and internationally. Over the past eight years Arielle has been teaching dance in the classroom, as well as coaching at the high school level. It is important to her to not only teach her students the art form, but to help them grow into hard working, independent, and creative adults. Arielle loves sharing her passion and love for dance with her students at Troy! 


Deja Pelayo

Deja began her dance training at the age of 4. She trained at many studios across Orange County in the styles of jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, ballet and tap. She was a part of her high school and college dance team. Deja continued to study dance throughout college, but ultimately graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She performed as a background dancer for the band Irontom and traveled to Switzerland & Paris to compete at the Dance2Dance competition representing the USA. Currently, she is teaching and choreographing for various studios throughout Orange County. Deja plans to share her love, dedication and knowledge of dance with the Troy Red Hots! 

Ashley Vargas

Ashley Vargas began her training 6 years ago, as a freshman going into high school. Through hard work and dedication, Ashley was selected as a member of the Red Hots Dance Team the following year. Not only is she a Troy alumni, but she was also a captain of the Red Hots team her senior year. Ashley is currently continuing her dance training at Fullerton College while also working toward her nursing degree. This is Ashley's 2nd year as the Troy All Male Dance Team Coach. She is very excited to watch the whole team grow this season!
